Our Farms

Egyapa Farms is dedicated to producing high-quality poultry products while embracing sustainable farming practices. Our mission is to enhance the well-being of our animals and support our local community, ensuring nutritious food options for all.

Humble Beginnings with Big Dreams

Starting with a modest 5000 bird capacity over two years ago, we have doubled our bird population of 10,000 producing a minimum of 300 crates per day to serve communities across Ghana. We aim to become a household poultry name in the West African subregion producing nutrition to families and jobs for communities scattered around our farm as well as businesses in the poultry value chain.

Eco-friendly farming techniques

Agyapa farm has adopted several eco-friendly techniques that significantly contribute to environmental conservation.

- Waste Mangement

The waste produced by poultry farms includes manure, dead birds, feathers, and bedding. If these materials are not managed effectively, the environment may be harmed. All of these waste materials are transformed into valuable resources, such as organic fertilizer, which farmers may use to naturally improve ecosystems. By doing this, we lessen the amount of waste that ends up in landfills and promote the development of a circular economy.

- Energy consumption

High-tech, energy-efficient equipment such as LED lights and automated heating and cooling systems have been integrated into poultry houses.

- Natural predators managements

Effective management of natural predators, without resorting to harmful chemicals is adopted. Techniques such as secure fencing and the use of guardian animal are used to protect flock naturally.

- Pollution management

  • Reducing ammonia emission: One strategy to minimize ammonia emission through a proper litter management and nutritional manipulation are done to reduce ammonia emission; this is done through the way of matching protein intake to those birds required protein. Synthetic amino acids (lysine and methionine) supplementation to the diet reduced total protein intake.
  • Reducing noise pollution: trees around farm serve as noise buffer.
  • Reducing odour pollution: Proper litter management is done by removing wet litter and adding wood shaving to litter therefore making it absorbing more moisture from the ground.
  • Reducing dust pollution: Dust level in poultry houses influenced by several factors, i.e., moisture conditions, animal activity, and animal density. There are several approaches which we do to reduce dust pollution in poultry farms, i.e., vacuum cleaning, adding fat to feed, purge ventilation.

Animal welfare prioritization

Because happy animals produce healthy chicken and eggs for consumers, animal welfare is crucial to the poultry industry’s capacity to survive. Agyapa Farm’s success has been built on its dedication to protecting the welfare of both its workers and its flock of birds.

- Housing

The goal of management is to ensure that birds are healthy and happy, allowing them to display their basic behavioral patterns through adequate freedom of movement, access to fresh air and natural daylight, and protection from extremes of temperature, wind, and rain. We also take into account having enough space for relaxing, lying down, and/or having access to feed and clean water.

- Feeding & medication

The diet given to all birds consists primarily of hormone-free corn and soy. Should the use of antibiotic become necessary, they are used under the direction and supervision of licensed farm veterinarian and birds are given anti stress medication ( vitamin AD3EC) whenever there is stress.

- Biosecurity

  • We provide dust free environment
  • Control movement of personnel / visitors are avoided
  • Provide foot bath at the entry of farm
  • Keep rodent population under control
  • Dispose dead birds by burying

Environmental stewardship

Agyapa Farm strives to provide our community with healthy, high-quality, safe, and reasonably priced poultry products while protecting the environment’s most valuable resource.

Energy, water, and land are all crucial to ensuring that our environmental effect is kept to a minimum. We try to limit our reliance on fossil fuels by sourcing corn, soybeans, and other feed ingredients locally to help the local economy in the areas where we operate.

We also assess and apply techniques to protect our energy source, such adding solar panels, reusing litter as manure, and keeping an eye on ammonia levels. We also use modern led lighting.
